By creating an account in TalkKnow you agree to these terms. They're short on purpose. Read them.
Who we are, who you are
"TalkKnow", "we", "us" — the team that makes the TalkKnow app. "You" — the person using it. You must be at least 18 years old to use TalkKnow. We enforce this with an age-gate during onboarding.
Your account
You can sign up with an email and a password, with Google Sign-In, or with Sign in with Apple. Keep your password — or the Google or Apple account you signed up with — secure. You're responsible for what happens under your account. If you think someone else has access, change your password (or secure the provider account) and email legal@talkknow.app.
You can have one account per person. Don't make a fake one for someone else without their permission.
Paired with someone
TalkKnow is designed for two people. You'll be asked to pair with a partner using a 6-character invite code.
- While paired, the two of you share daily questions, custom questions, and memories. Each of you sees the other's answers after both of you have answered.
- Either of you can unpair from settings at any time. When you do, the pair is dissolved, and shared content under that pair is deleted.
- You're responsible for treating your partner well inside the app. We're not a moderation service, but we will take action on reports of abuse, harassment, or stalking — see What you can't do.
Your content
You own everything you create in TalkKnow — your answers, your custom questions, your memories, your photos, your voice notes. We don't claim ownership.
You grant us a narrow, non-exclusive licence to host that content on Google Cloud (via Firebase) for the sole purpose of running the app for you and your partner. We do not have permission to use your content for marketing, to train models, or to share it with anyone else.
You promise that the content you upload is yours to upload — you didn't steal a photo that isn't yours, you have your partner's consent to share images of them, and so on.
Subscriptions & auto-renew
TalkKnow has a free tier and three paid plans. Paid plans cover both partners in a pair (you only pay once per couple).
Auto-renewing subscription. Renews monthly at the same price unless cancelled.
Auto-renewing subscription. Renews yearly at the same price unless cancelled.
One-time purchase. Not a subscription. Does not renew.
Prices are in US dollars. Local currency and applicable taxes are shown at checkout by Apple or Google. The Lifetime plan is a non-renewing one-time purchase and is not affected by the auto-renewal language above.

Refunds
Because Apple and Google process the payment, refunds for subscriptions and in-app purchases are also processed by them — we can't refund money we never received.

If a charge is clearly a mistake on our end (e.g. a billing bug), email legal@talkknow.app and we'll help sort it out with the store.
What you can't do
Don't use TalkKnow to:
- Harass, threaten, stalk, or intimidate your partner or anyone else.
- Upload content you don't have the right to share, including non-consensual intimate imagery.
- Upload content sexualising or endangering minors. Reports go to authorities.
- Probe, scrape, reverse-engineer, or break the app, or use it to attack other systems.
- Resell, rent, or sublicense the app or your subscription.
- Pretend to be someone else, or create an account for someone without their consent.
If you experience abuse inside the app, email legal@talkknow.app with the details. We can suspend accounts that violate these terms.
Ending the agreement
You can stop using TalkKnow at any time. To erase everything, follow the account deletion process.
We can suspend or terminate your account if you break these terms in a serious way (anything in What you can't do), or if we're legally required to. If we do that, we'll tell you why where we can.
Disclaimers & liability
TalkKnow is provided "as is". We try hard to make it work for you, but we can't promise it will be uninterrupted, bug-free, or always available. The app is not therapy, counselling, medical advice, or crisis support. If you or your partner are in crisis, please contact a local crisis line.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of TalkKnow is limited to the greater of: (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) USD 50. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law (for example, for gross negligence, fraud, or death and personal injury caused by negligence in some jurisdictions).
Changes
If we change these terms materially, we'll update the date at the top and notify you inside the app. Continuing to use TalkKnow after we notify you means you accept the new terms. If you don't agree, delete your account.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which TalkKnow is established, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Mandatory consumer-protection laws in your country of residence still apply on top of that.
