Delete your TalkKnow account

· Public deletion request page — no app install required

This page is the public way to request permanent deletion of your TalkKnow account and the data tied to it. You do not need to install or open the app. Anyone can use this page.

Our promise. Once we receive a verified request, we will permanently delete your account and the data described below from our active systems within 30 days. Backup snapshots roll off on a 35-day rolling window after which the data is also gone from backups.

What gets deleted

The following data is removed in full when you delete your account:

  • Your user profile (email, first name, optional birthday, optional about text).
  • Your profile photo from Firebase Cloud Storage.
  • Your notification preferences and saved push notification (FCM) tokens.
  • Your subscription entitlement record on our side.
  • If you are paired with someone, the pair document and everything under it:
    • Daily question answers and guesses (yours and your partner's).
    • Custom questions and answers (whichever of you wrote them).
    • Memories: titles, notes, photo URLs, voice notes — including the underlying photo and audio files in Cloud Storage.
    • Any partner-pair nudges between you.
  • Any open pair invite codes you sent that have not yet been used.
About your partner. Because paired content lives on the shared pair — not on individual accounts — deleting your account dissolves the pair, and the shared content listed above is removed for your partner too. Your partner's own account, profile, and any private data of theirs remain untouched. We will notify them inside the app that the pair was dissolved.

What does not get deleted

  • Apple and Google receipt records. Your in-app purchase receipts are held by Apple App Store or Google Play. We don't control those — request deletion from the store if needed.
  • Email you've sent to support. If you've written to us, your message remains in our support inbox unless you ask us to delete it too.

Two ways to request deletion

Option 1 — Email us

Send an email to support@talkknow.app from the email address tied to your TalkKnow account. Subject line: Account deletion request. We use the sender address to verify the request.

Option 2 — Submit the form below

Fill in the form. When you tap "Submit deletion request" it will open your email app with a pre-filled message to support@talkknow.app. Send it — that's all we need.

This form opens your default mail app with the message pre-filled. No data is sent to a server from this page.

What happens next

  1. We verify the request. We confirm the email matches an existing account. If it doesn't, we'll ask for help identifying the account before doing anything.
  2. We delete. Within 30 days we delete the data listed above from Firestore and Cloud Storage.
  3. We confirm. You'll get one final email letting you know the deletion is complete. After that, your address is no longer in our active systems either.
  4. Cancel your store subscription separately. Deleting your TalkKnow account does not cancel an active Apple or Google subscription — store subscriptions live on the store side and must be cancelled there. See how to cancel.

If you change your mind

Deletion is permanent. We cannot restore deleted data once it has been removed from backups (about 35 days after the deletion job runs). If you've sent the request and want to back out, email support@talkknow.app as quickly as you can and we'll cancel it if we haven't started the deletion yet.

Other paths

Just want to take a break? You can unpair from a partner and stop using the app without deleting — your account stays put and you can return any time. To unpair from inside the app: You → Pair → Unpair.

If you want a copy of your data before deleting, email privacy@talkknow.app from the address tied to the account and we'll send a JSON export within 30 days.
